You made the RealID thing sound like I initially hoped it would have been. “You only share it with someone you want to link up with” more or less.
Instead it turned into some kind of Blizzard grab for Social Networking / Facebook sort of thing where my ex-mother-in-law’s cousin can see me online in Wintergrasp if my RealID friends aren’t very careful about who they link to, and I’m not constantly “show offline”, defeating the purpose of RealID. Perhaps I’m missing some vital difference, but it seems much more intrusive than just “letting a buddy know” I’m online.
