5MB in 1956 was a huge amount of storage. When I entered the workforce in the late ’60s I ran a computerized test machine controlled by big rolls of 1″ mylar tape with holes in it. We used mylar because paper wore out quickly. So yes, there was “paper tape with holes in it.”

Also I remember when the first wave of Ipods came out where the HDD’s had more storage space them my PC, that and on my old Amstrad having to exit to DOS and PARK the HDD needle before shutting down

when it comes to the three week delay for doctor who, i’ve just been downloading the episodes, their usually up an hour or two after they air, and I’ve only been scammed once and it was probably just a corrupt file.
