Looking for a little feed back now that we have a ton of short shows under our belt, plus 6 of the weekly episodes. What are your thoughts? Still enjoy the short form versions of the show? Prefer the long weekly show? Happy to have both?
Would love your feedback. Thanks!

I enjoy the mix of long and short shows. The short shows are perfect for when I have 15 minutes to spare and the long shows are great for lunch breaks, commute, etc.
Loving the show. Keep up the good work.

Love both of the shows. The short ones are a great way to start my mornings, and the longer ones are always entertaining.
love BOTH, dont change your short format that small injection of geek plus the reader geekery is great… and then once a week a long show is great, just try not to go to long Macbreak (one of leos shows) is getting ridiculous
I’m loving both of the shows, you could make the weekly one even longer and I would love it. Keep it up!
I really enjoy the show. I would even prefer to have a couple of articles per episode instead of just one + reader submission. An 8 minute podcast is pretty short. If it were extended to 15 minutes I don’t think anyone would complain.
A suggestion: Since the show is 3 times a week for the short edition, how possible would it be to make each of those shows for the week themed? I.e. Game related, math/science/etc
Keep up the great work!
Enjoying the show but I’m missing the MWF release schedule. You could improve the show drastically for me by getting the episodes out for download and consumption the night before the scheduled date.
Thanks
I have to say I really like it too but after the 25th or around there I started to drift off. But I must say you guys are too fast for people like me (artists, busy partying or whatever). Of course that doesn’t mean the show isn’t here for any future references. But I really would like the headers to be more inclusive of the show’s content. Or useful tags perhaps?
two thumbs up all the way…
I really enjoy the show, both the long and the short versions. The reader submissions are always worth a chuckle (most times because I’ve done something similar.)
Recently, I have had to start listening to them at home as I can’t listen at work anymore, and I have found that your opening on the short shows has a very strange effect on my cat. Every time she hears Scott yell “I have Current Geek”, she comes running up and rubs against my iPhone or iPad which ever is playing the episode. Did you embed some secret cat call in there somewhere, Scott? LOL!!
Love both shows Scott & Tom. Keep up the good work!
I enjoy listening to the show and I love the content. I prefer the weekly edition more since the stories can be discussed more in depth. The e-mails at the end are really fun to listen to also. Keep up the good work Scott and Tom.
I only listen to the long version of the show, and I really like it! I think the last episode was a little out of my league in terms of geekiness, but that’s to be expected every now and then. I do think, though, that if the long show was any longer, it might feel too long. Great work, guys!
plz keep it the same. I absolutely love it the way it is now. Its just the right to surprise me work then I can think and talk about it for a day and what do you know a new one!

Newish listener (been listening for a month or so) and I enjoy both. The short ones are great for some quick entertainment and goodies while the weekly shows are full of more info and BS ;-p. Thanks and keep ‘em coming
I love the 3 short updates during the week. I’m not so much of a fan of the long weekly episodes. I think they go on for too long and tend to get a bit windy. I think that the tri-weekly podcasts could be about 10 min longer and cover a few more topics instead of the long weekly podcast.
You got it just right to keep us geeks up to date and also make us feel not so alone with the geeky stories sent in by the listeners. I’m a geek Hybrid also like Joe from #68 and its nice to hear about geeks like me. Don’t change a thing I love the weekly shows when I’m playing WOW and the shorts when I’m taking breaks at work. Keep it going guys.
I love the mix as well. Lately I’ve been having a hard time finding an hour or so to listen to longer podcasts. But I love the short CG’s. I sit down and listen while I have a cup of coffee in the morning and page through my feed reader.
The Brilliant Pants shows (CG, CGW, and FC) are currently my favorite podcasts. The shorter current geeks are my favorite, but Weekly is a good way to wind down a work week. Keep it up!
Love the short format shows, the long formats are good too but don’t lose the short format.
I love the long and short shows! its a great way to listen to the current geeky world when on a short break or commute. keep up the good work guys!
I’m loving the shows. I listen to them at work and they make me laugh. My coworkers are always like what’s michael laughing at. The hour long show was a great idea. I love listening to all the different stories in the long format. They make my work day fly by. Thank you, from one happy nerd.
Chiming in with the others, I really enjoy having both short and long shows. The topics are broad and interesting. Thanks for the great show guys!
I really like that you have a short and a long version of the show. Keep up the great work
Scott, on you latest show, Friday’s live show. you expressed concern about the fact that studies haven’t “proven or disproven” a link between cellphones and cancers. although such a statement on its on sounds troubling because of the “or disproven” part, you have to remember how hard it is to prove a negative. in order to truly do so you need complete knowledge which no one has. in science we rely on the burden of proof, its not about being able to totally disprove an idea, its about being able to demonstrate an ideas plausibility through testing.
for example we haven’t disproven the ideas stated by alchemy, that you can turn normal substances into gold. we have only failed to prove it under the procedures alleged to make the transformation happen.
so don’t put to much weight on the “or disproven” part of that statement, in science in means nothing.
Like them both although I do prefer the longer version.
I love them both. I even want more. Meaning, since you apperently use Twitlive(?) why not archive the videofeed for later viewing ?
I love the short shows compared to the long shows. The format of the short shows is perfect.
The shorter shows have a bit more charm to ‘em. But I sure enjoy the long ones to. My only problem is to keep up the pace and listen to it all. Keep ‘em both up.
I love both shows. I was worried about the idea of the long format at first, but having the segments really helps break it up.
My only suggestion: The name of “Science Not Fiction” kind of bugs me. Typically, the counterpart to fictional works isn’t called not-fiction, it’s nonfiction or non-fiction. I think “Science Non-fiction” sounds like a much better name than Science Not-Fiction, which just hits me a little funny.
Otherwise, love the shows! The short eps are a great drive-time filler and the long eps are a great way to spend longer drives or lunches. I’d love to watch live, but if I told my wife I want to spend an hour at the computer on 7pm on Fridays watching two geeks talk, she’d wonder what was wrong with me.
I really love both shows. You talk about the interesting science stuff, and the geeky stuff on both shows. I really enjoy them, so keep it up!
Love the shows. Like both formats. I like them both in the same feed, but if you ever decide to split to two feeds give plenty of warning in advance.
I love the long format. Keep up the good work!! My only suggestion would be to cut the “segments titles”. In my opinion, it seems to disrupt the flow of the conversastion a little.
Love the shows i look forward each week from them i try to make it to the live recording of Current Geek Weekly keep up the good work.
I quite enjoy the current 3 short show and 1 long show format and I love the podcast so Keep on rocking!
I rather enjoy both formats, especially since the long format episode never feels like a rehash of the short version.
The long format is great for the tangents, and the short for the tight format.
I guess the only suggestion for improvement I could offer is that I enjoy the short show’s music far more than the long-format show’s.
I think I speak for all geeks when I say, “keep both the shows, they’re froggin awesome!!!”
I love you guys, mainly you Scott, I only hear Tom on here unless he guest speaks on another show. I can listen to Scott all freakin’ day, I’m not sure why. His voice has some kind of pull on me that i can’t get away from.
P.S. I agree with Colin, the weekly shows music could be improved.
I started listening to the shows because they were short and focused on one or two topics per show. I really like that format. I was scared when you started the longer weekly show. This could be a slippery slope into a single long format show, or an extension of the shorter shows into longer ones. I would probably stop listening at that point.
The longer shows tend to fall into “This week in TV” or “This week at the movies” categories instead of science/geeky stuff. If I happen to miss downloading shows on time and have to go back and grab older ones, I only get the short shows.
I just recently started listening to podcasts. luckily enough this is one of the first I found. Now I am hooked! Plz dont change a thing. The current episode format of several short shows and a long one is great. But personally I could listen to a long show daily. “I listen at work” I have even went back through the archive and downloaded all the older shows just to hear what I had been missing. Scott you are the man! I think i have at least listened to “if not downloaded several of” all of your shows. Even ELR which Im sad to say I missed out on it’s glory days but they are still good. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK GUYS!
Always lovin’ the show. I listen mostly to the short shows. The geeky reader submissions are funny. Nice to know there are others out there…..
